Workmanship art quilts is my generally received quilting point of convergence.  My very first part was made for the Memorial Art Passage show held earlier this year, and lo and regard, it sold.  My very first art quilt vent.  I was entrancing. 

This was an invitational show and I was honored to be asked to take a part in.   It started with visiting the corridor this past summer to choose a piece from their crowd as inspiration.  The Impressionist phraseology of painting has always appealed to me, so I selected one from that mode of speech and had a wonderful duration making my part. 

A collage of upholstery fabric was used as a worthless for the machine embroidered home I sewed out distinctly on metallic organza.    I palm and fingers embroidered around each window and entrance to highlight and add fabric to the embroidery.  Each fragment of the upholstery fabric base had a distinct decorative engine embroidery sew together sewing it in courtyard.  My sewing engine was used extensively for this throw out.

Next, numerous engine embroidered foliage were appliqued by palm and fingers over the surface.  They were made on manifold colored tulles and sheers, using a broad variety of threads - rayons, cottons, metallics, silk, and divers-colored.  More silk blossom leaves were added, and an embroidered cat was added for the residence doorstep.

The complete piece was attached to 2 layers of dark felt to act as a construct.  They were stitched together with cent wire.  My straitened fingers will bear witness to that material being certain copper.  The complete piece is 18′ x 22″.

I was hesitant to partake in this show, and did not reply by the deadline.  A special phone call from one of the show co-ordinators changed my soul, and am I ever glad it did.  This was a extraordinary experience.   This is the bit made for the show:
