How dry?
I'm in the train of restoring a 1974 basking-shark. I've already had to install three ports to entranceway the backing blocks, all of which became saturated and malignant off, and were rattling around in the husk. I also need to re-set to two of the main styrofoam blocks, which also came unfasten.
So far, no big deal. Here's my act of asking: the closed-cell foam that attaches the styrofoam blocks is TOTALLY saturated with irrigate; it's palpably wet to the hit. I'm assuming I extremity to remove as much of this substance as I can reach, even the material that fills the gap between the top of the styrofoam and the husk, but I won't be able to stretch forth the outboard side of the styrofoam blocks. I almost certainly won't be proficient to get ALL of it out.
My question is: how dry does the inner part of the hull necessity to be before I re-attach the styrofoam blocks? Do I necessity to dry it out for weeks using enforced air, etc., or do I merely urgency to scrape out as much of the obviously fog closed-cell foam as I can and let the fiberglass external part dry out? The styrofoam itself doesn't have feeling that damp, though it could very well have a lot of absorbed irrigate. Will the pour foam cleave to slightly wet styrofoam?
