Dichroic Goes to the Birds

With a lot of experimenting and property-control failures comes a lot of rejects. Before you hurl away your rejects, recycle them into astounding projects.
Hi! I’m Rhonda from Rwillisglassartist. As requiring great outlay as dichroic glass is and having so many rejects that didn’t proceed quality superintendence for whatever reason (so I’m a minute picky), I equitable couldn’t convey myself to throw them from home. After much deliberation with hubby and my EGA pals, the exemplar of a birdbath came up. And, it equitable so happens we are in the course of relandscaping our backyard, so what a finished idea, and I had birdbath that could use some sprucing up!
After picking through my dichroics for equitable the right ensign, and drying out the birdbath as it was already in use, I gathered my supplies:
Gloves
Wipe
Paper Towels and formal hand towel
Sticking Grout
Tact stick
Grout
Sky-colored Colorant (can be purchased at a stained glass treasure in mosaic part)
Grout Sealant (not needed if you use grout that has sealant already in it)
First I applied the clinging grout to a scrap of glass with a craft switch (enough to attach the bit but not too much that it will seep out the sides as I needed to permission space for the grouting train). I then set it into the birdbath and pressed down a diminutive. I repeated this train until the birdbath was covered. I then waited 24-48 hours for the sticking grout to dry.
Next, I associated some pewter colored grout (any hue will do probably - I reasonable happened to have this one and notion I’d ordeal with it) with water until it was the consistence of peanut butter. Then I added in the colorant until I was light-hearted with the color. With my gloves on, I extend the grout into all the nooks and crannies until the birdbath was completely covered. Then I wiped carefully wiped off the excess grout.
