Oooh wondrous, I thought, two colour knitting, in some of my favourite colours.

I'd done some two-colour knitting not long ago & realised I needed the do repeatedly - it's been a long duration. Oh, the finished legwarmers looked ok, & worked (so our daughter tells me), I rightful wasn't that blissful with they way they'd knitted up.

So I found a astonishing blue made of wool yarn, & a round part of Opal Planete in lots of hades of green, in addition some leftover calaite & some pale virid. Go for the "full bluebell woods in the hop with all the other leaves advent out & blue sky" direct the eye, I thought.

Then I started knitting. & came up with the model I'd seen blogged about of knitting with one colour in each palm and fingers. Which is where things began to go pear shaped.
Pace 1 - try knitting the sock that way. Oh at a high price, the needles, which are metal, keep slipping out, & I'm wondering how to cope with holding the dpns & the woollen thread in my left palm and fingers (I knit English people style).Pace 2 - get two needles & some more woollen thread. Try teaching myself to join Continental phraseology. How do you hold the woollen thread in your left palm and fingers so it runs evenly?
Pace 3 - get on with knitting other projects. One veritably is winter knitting & now that Vault has sprung . . .Pace 4 - go pay a visit to some bluebell woods locally cos they're arrival out right now. Yup, colours are a serviceable likeness.Pace 5 - settle these socks are very precise but I'm not going to create the April deadline. Not this year anyhow.Pace 6 - go to see our local DIY store to see whether they sell 2.75mm central chord dowelling.Pace 7 - bring into being a set of 2.75mm dpns or, if say in reply to Step 6 was "No"Pace 7(alternative) - traipse off to LYS & buy some wooden 2.75mm dpns.Pace 8 - amazement if it's really all worthiness it for a pair of socks.
Of race it is. Come the hot pass to windward of, cos we might get hot weather this year, they'll be mental knitting, & the aran cardigan won't be.
