Managed to draw myself out of bed, get dressed and get on the act of incorporation bus to the Chicago show on Saturday first blush of the morning. This after a night of tossing and winding and sitting up to direct the eye at the clock entirely too many times . . . terrified I would oversleep and fail to hit the bus! Made the bus . . . forgot my camera!

I did uncommonly well on my fabric fare. I bought a two charm packs for my Civilized War Love Learning stash. Then I grabbed four fat cantonments in a watermelon impress, and a watermelon hull print . . . default to make the brine dish exemplar, and call it, "Watermelon Pickles"! I had right posted a memorandum in my journal of ideas to do an inchworm quilt . . . found edifice with tape measures all over it, so I bought that for borders. The Pfaff booth had fat posts for $1.49, and I found an pricking green press for my Civil War stash, and pointed out three others for a friend who couldn't bring into being the trip. I got a minute packet of palm and fingers-dyed wools for my loved associate, Laura. My ultimate fabric buy was two five-dollar grip suddenly bags from the Small Quilts booth. My friends all laughter at my addiction to grip suddenly bags. There were lots of Moda's and Andover prints, and many WOF cuts. Yesterday, out of inquisitiveness, I measured the WOF cuts and came up with a complete yardage of 6.5 yards. That didn't contain the squares and strips narrower than 5 inches, and odd shaped scraps. Lots of them will go into my Civilized War stash. I divine buying 6.5 yards more of fabric is falling off the commons, but I only spent $10 on it, so I meditate I'll count it as scraps!

I piked up three spools of Aurifil small string for piecing . . . delight in this thread. I put a spool on my machine in January, and have pieced at least three quilt tops, and I'm still only halfway down the spool. It's a exquisite fine filament, that seems to permit the joint allowances to lay flatter. Superlatively good of all, it doesn't lint up my machine.
