Raising the BAR.. again
I'll open the door to that I am far from "green" as new standards go. We recycle the liable, and we try not to overuse written instrument products... but I am not as onward thinking as perhaps Al Clotted blood wishes I were. Sometimes I get a culpable tickle at the back of my inner man as I shop... rational that it's time to bear the recyclable bags with me to the groceries store or to recover the type of house cleansers I use.
This week it was about formative. As I grabbed a refill of fluid soap for my kitchen and bathroom soap dispensers, I pictured landfills exuberant with these colorful containers giving ground of hope "softer hands" and antibacterial benefits. Naiively I musing I was doing a serviceable thing by puchasing the mondo refill container in the room of picking up the 2 for $3 dispensers. But positively now. When did bar soap become so passe?
Expanding up, all I remember is bar soap. There was still a broken variety -- for some understanding we seem to think that cleaning our hands requires frangrance, fabric and shape selections. As if our distinct existence hinged on our soap choices. We didn't have fluid soap (okay, so I am totally dating myself here... let's gaze past that part, ok?) Ablution your hands involved picking up the bar of soap, influencing it around between your hands and scrubbing. Hmmm... somewhere along the extended mark, someone obviously thinking that was too much work, so they invented fluid soap. So much easier, not crooked? You pump it into your palm and fingers, move it around between your hands and scour. SOooooo much easier.
Somehow the whole American peopling jumped on the bandwagon. Every one only person I discern has liquid soap in their homes. EVERY ONE. The dispensers are right adorable....minute ladybugs slippery up and down inside to embolden your children to cleanse by ablution. Slinky, curvy bottles of perfumey fluid so that you smell palatable AND clean. They are distinct colors, separate smells, distinct shapes. Frankly, that bar soap session there in its bland cardboard box seems.... well, lawful so...
