A few years ago, I attended the Woodworkers Showcase show in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and I was amazed. It was the most completed woodworking show I had ever attended. Why? Because of four things.

1. The independent classes and seminars were signal. That year I erudite more about chilled-bending from Jere Osgood and movables design from Garrett Haggle in a single day than I'd lettered by reading (too many) books.

2. An astonishing display of movables, turnings and other objects (even a canoe!) that were built by the members of the cudgel who put on the show, the Northeastern Woodworker's Conjunction.

3. Hands-on displays and demonstrations of jigs, fixtures, sculpture and sash-fabrication that were ongoing the undiminished weekend.

4. And, of career, booths and booths of vendors selling new gear and vintage tools.

And amazingly, access for all this was just $7 for adults.

This year, I was asked to make certain at the Woodworkers Showcase – a enormous honor – on April 5 and 6. It's this approach weekend at the Saratoga Springs Incorporated town Center. Beat here for advice on the event.
